My Last Spring Break

With spring break roughly marking the half way point of the semester is just another benchmark making me realize that my time here at Ohio Northern University is quickly coming to a close, However spring break is not just a marker to show how much time is left in the semester. For the Lacrosse team here spring break is always a business trip.
In the three previous years of the Ohio Northern Men's Lacrosse team we have never won all three games on our spring break trip, we had always dropped at least one game. This year though all that changed, this year we accomplished what we had never done before.
This year we first face a Guilford College team that we have met with once before and are somewhat familiar with. A tough, gritty team with a reputation of being a little chippy and physical. The second team we competed with was Pfieffer University a team that has previously been competing at the division two level which is interesting and brought up some questions. Last we played Brevard College a small team that had a lot of fight in them.
Our first game was in my eyes the most important, two years ago we played Guilford College on spring break and the game did not go as planned, meaning as a team we did not perform like we would have liked to and ended up losing the game. This year was a very different story, we played on a Sunday which was strange for us but had no impact on how we would perform, we went into the game very prepared for what was to come. We knew all of their personnel, how they liked to play, and were ready for anything they could throw at us. Both teams played hard and in the end we earned our first program win over Guilford College, a 6-4 game.
Game two VS. Pfieffer University, a game that brought several questions to my mind as they played at the division two level for many years before this. Very similar to the first game we had been very prepared for this game knowing their personnel, their plays, and their style of play. we were ready to play, still excited and pumped up coming off of the first win we played an impressive game and put up 22 goals to their 8. So half way through spring break we were 2-0 with only one game between us and our first ever undefeated spring break.
With two wins under our belt and one to go all of the boys were excited to get that third win. This game VS. Brevard College was expected to be very similar to the Pfieffer game, and it ended up being very similar. They were a smaller team, with low numbers but scrapped a lot and were a quick physical team.
With the win in the third game we had finished our first sweep of our spring break trip and completed another first for this team. All the great competition helped us get ready for our next game V.S. Alfred college in New York this coming Saturday.
