The Worst Super Bowl Ever?

What is likely to go down as the worst Superbowl of all time, last night the Los Angeles Rams faced off against the New England patriots in the “world championship” football game better known as the super bowl. With over under lines set near sixty total points it’s safe to say that most people thought this game was going to be a high scoring event showcasing two great offenses as well as two great offensive coaches in Sean Mcvay and Bill Belichick. However that was far from what ended up happening.
What millions of people watched unfold was almost the polar opposite of what the professionals predicted. A games that started with arguably the best quarterback to ever play the game throwing an interception on his first passing attempt, and the rams accumulating just 57 yards by halftime and no points. I like many others was wondering why I was still watching this horribly slow football game, rather than changing the channel it was the possibility of FOMO that kept my eyes along with my eight other housemates eyes glued to this game. As we approached half time the patriots finally got on the board but that was far from entertaining, there was not a spectacular catch, a run chock full of broken tackles and physical play that resulted in a touchdown, it was a field goal. A mid-range fairly routine field goal now if that doesn’t get you excited for the second half I don’t know what would.
Now I may just be a sour Dallas Cowboys fan but it blows my mind with the number of folks that are working to make these teams win and score that no one could link together enough successful plays to get either of these teams down the field more than the one time yes I said there was only one drive that resulted in a touchdown.  Now I should give credit where credit is due, the patriots did put together a drive that resulted in a touchdown and that is more than can be said about the rams and was the deciding factor late in the game when it was scored.

Do i think anything should change about the game itself or should there be any rule changes? No not at all. Football is just a game and in reality for people to get mad at grown men playing a game to offer entertainment is just a little silly. Not every game is going to be the best game ever and that is just part of the game.

  1. I agree with how bad the Super Bowl was. With the amount of fans watching and excited for big game, it was a huge dissapointment. But that's sports, and we have to accept that not everything is going to be exciting.
